چکیده

Arylethanediamines, Photophosphorylation, Uncouplers, Structure-Activity Relationships The effects of the algicide PH 40-62 on photosynthetic reactions in spinach chloroplasts were studied. The compound proved to be an uncoupler of photophosphorylation, whereas inhibition of photosynthetic electron transport occurred at higher concentrations. The site of this inhibition was before photosystem II. The uncoupling effect was partially reversible. In a series of related compounds the uncoupling activity appeared mainly dependent on the lipophilic properties of the compounds but electronic effects also played a distinct role. Comparing these uncoupling data with those of some known series of uncouplers it appeared that lipophilicity determines the uncoupling activity in an identical way and a regression equation was found describing the uncoupling activities of 60 compounds belonging to four chemically different groups of com pounds.

Purification and reconstitution of the N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide-sensitive ATPase complex from spinach chloroplasts.

The dicyclohexylcarbodiimide-sensitive ATPase from spinach chloroplast has been isolated. On sodium dodecyl sulfate gels, seven different polypeptides were seen. Five of these polypeptides coincided with the CF1 subunits, a 7,500-dalton peptide was identified as the proteolipid which interacts with [14C]dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, and there was a 15,500-dalton hydrophobic polypeptide with unknown...

5-Bromo-N-(3,4-dimethoxybenzyl)pyridin-2-amine

The title compound, C(14)H(15)BrN(2)O(2), an inter-mediate in drug discovery, was synthesized by the reaction of 5-bromo-pyridin-2-amine and 3,4-dimeth-oxy-benzaldehyde. In the crystal, molecules are linked via pairs ofN-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of inversion dimers. A short contact occurs between the aryl H atom (ortho position from N) and the centroid of the benzene ring.

Theoretical studies on corrosion inhibition of N-aroyl-N’-aryl thiourea derivatives using conceptual DFT approach

In this paper, quantum chemical parameters at density functional theory (DFT) B3LYP/6-31G** (d,p) level of theory were calculated for three organic corrosion inhibitors [N-benzoyl-N-(p-aminophenyl) thiourea, N-benzoyl-N-(thiazole) thiourea and N-acetyl-N-(dibenzyl) thiourea. The calculated molecular descriptors such as the HOMO, LUMO, dipole moment, chemical potential (μ), chemical hardness (ղ)...

Photophosphorylation Associated with Photosystem II: III. Characterization of Uncoupling, Energy Transfer Inhibition, and Proton Uptake Reactions Associated with Photosystem II Cyclic Photophosphorylation.

A number of uncouplers and energy transfer inhibitors suppress photosystem II cyclic photophosphorylation catalyzed by either a proton/electron or electron donor. Valinomycin and 2,4-dinitrophenol also inhibit photosystem II cyclic photophosphorylation, but these compounds appear to act as electron transport inhibitors rather than as uncouplers. Only when valinomycin, KCl, and 2,4-dinitrophenol...
